There was, indeed, a rush to judgement in the case of Senator Franken, led by Gillibrand! Where was Franken’s due process? Why was he not reviewed by the Ethics Committee as he had asked to be? Why were his accusers not vetted in any way? Some were, in fact, anonymous. How is that even legitimate? And why was Ms Tweedon’s rather nasty past at the USO Tours not brought out? Specifically all of those sexy pictures of her grabbing butts, kissing men? Anyone just has to look on Twitter. They’re there, they’re actual photos, they’re numerous and they’re very easy to find. And isn’t the fact that Ms Tweedon is a “birther” relevant to her amazing display on tv specifically to take Al Franken down part of her credibility in Al Franken’s case? Funny that no one talks about that!
Why would you say the Democrats are better off with him gone? That’s an outrageous statement based on no real evidence. Just speculation. Which, as far as I know, is not due process.
Senator Franken deserved to be believed in the same way that women making credible, provable claims deserve to be believed. But just because one is a woman does not mean that her words are accurate or truthful. Same as with men. The pendulum must swing equally. And there must be a clear differentiation between the wide variety of behaviors under the categories of sexual harassment, sexual assault, rape, sexual violence, pedophilia, and just being a clunky, bumbling idiot.
Senator Franken was railroaded. There was no moral high ground there! Just a big embarrassment for the Democrats in Congress.
