Thanks for your comments, Ted. Here is where I stand, and why:

There was no need for Senator Franken to step down. He wanted to go before the Ethics Committee but many of the female Dems decided Congress was not equipped to handle such cases. Nevertheless, he should have stayed, and could have stayed. Plus, he could NOT have been forced out by anyone! But he’s a proud man and, had you listened carefully to his speech on the Senate floor, it was clear he was angry and defiant, and very hurt. Why? Because most of the accusations made were from unidentified women! And those few who were identified complained of “behavior” that hardly could be considered either sexual harassment or sexual assault. These women did not even know him. They each encountered him in one instance, were in no way traumatized and, most importantly, were not interviewed nor in any way investigated.

Now, as a result of the Democratic women (mostly) in Congress shaming Franken to resign, a temporary Senator will be appointed as a placeholder and within less than a year’s time there will be an open election and there will be a very good chance a Republican will fill Franken’s seat!

And by the way, we’ll have the same situation in New Jersey if Senator Menendez is retried for corruption, since his court case ended in a mistrial. If so, Gov Christy will be the one to appoint a Senator to take Menendez place. Thus, another Republican and the Senate loses two Dem seats…unless we some 2018 miracle.

But I digress. Sort of.

I strongly recommend the article below which deals with Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Franken and the Democrats. It’s a whopper of a piece and I think is truly worth everyone’s time to read it carefully. I do think you’ll appreciate it as well!

Thanks again, Ted! Would be interested in your thoughts on the above.
