Thank you so much, Róisín! I’m delighted you liked it. I had some trepidations about it, only because it’s the longest piece I’ve written here on Medium and I wasn’t sure many people would take the time to read it.

Mike Essig has always told me to keep things short — that Medium readers don’t have the patience for long stories or in my case, a long Prose Poem. Although my style is very different from his, I always envy his ability to say so much with so few words! But I guess that’s a whole other subject.
