Heartbreaking, Pamela.

I learned early on that sometimes it is best to face the reality that families — or a family member — are simply not nice people; that they are incapable of giving the unconditional love we so desperately seek; that waiting for it… asking for it is a painful exercise in futility; that often we must turn to others who can and will fill that role… a “family” of another sort, yet perfect in every way.
